Question Number 2: For the five most recent cases, please tell me a) the job title of the member of staff against whom the behaviour was levelled b) a brief summary of the content of the complaint (patient said "you can warm your hands up on me" during a physical examination, patient wolf-whistled at nurse, etc.) c) the action taken by the Trust. | |
Answer To Question 2: A2 1 a Health Care assistant b Patient made an inappropriate comment, directed at the staff member. Patient was under DOLs - (Deprivation of Liberty) c Escalated to Ward Nurse, Datix incident reported. 2 a Nursing assistant b Patient inappropriately touched the staff member several times and asked the staff member if they would touch the patient in an inappropriate manner. Patient was under DOLs. c Documented in patient notes, Datix incident reported. Escalated to Ward Manager & Matron, going forwards the patient had security present at all times when a staff member was tending to them. 3 a Physiotherapist b Patient made an inappropriate comment, kissed a staff member's forearm. Patient capacity unclear. c Incident escalated to Nurse in Charge, Datix incident reported. Discussion was held with patient making it clear that these kind of comments and actions would not be tolerated. 4 a Physiotherapist b Patient made an inappropriate comment. c Patient immediately informed that these comments are not tolerated by the staff. No further issues arose. 5 a Physiotherapist b Patient inappropriately touched the staff member and then made inappropriate comments. Patient capacity unclear. c Escalated to Nurse in Charge, who had discussions with the patient regarding inappropriate behaviour. | |
